The Philadelphia Youth Dance Fest unites talented and aspiring dancers through the celebration and performance of dance. PYDF offers them an experience that will enrich and inspire their craft. The Festival provides an opportunity for young dancers to learn from their peers, connect through dance, and gain a sense of community.
GROW
PYDF participants are given the opportunity to take Master Classes, which allow the students to broaden their knowledge and appreciation of dance culture. PYDF hires world class teachers, connecting the young dancers to the professional world of dance. Additionally, PYDF holds a scholarship audition class for different Summer Programs allowing dancers to expand their training opportunities.
Perform
Participating companies will have the opportunity to perform in the Drexel University’s beautiful Mandell theatre on Sunday March 26th. Dancers will get to experience performing with professional lighting and sound in this 420 seat theater. The festival acts as an opportunity to exposPe local audience members to the young dance community, building support for the next generation of dancers as they continue to pursue dance professionally.
